Dave Swift Returns to the West Midlands
Dave Swift returned to the West Midlands once again with the Jools Holland Rhythm and Blues Orchestra at the Symphony Hall in Birmingham on the 14th and 15th of December.
Dave was a music loving student at Colton Hills School, starting from playing the trombone, forming the school band Taylor Mayd, through to joining Jools Holland’s world famous orchestra.
As part of his patronage he arranged post-concert collections on both nights to raise money for the Birch Thompson Memorial Fund. With the help from a number of our trustees, we raised £470 in total from donations by concert-goers, which we are very grateful for.
Between the concerts, Dave was also interviewed by the radio presenter Paul Franks on BBC WM 95.6 The Paul Franks Show. It included talking about growing up in Wolverhampton, his successful 35 year music career, the Jools Holland concerts and the collection for the fund after the performances. To listen to the interview in full, use the playback controls below to listen now or download to listen to it later.
Thank you once again to Dave and all of our supporters for the continued support you have given us.
