Colton Hills Students raise £1125 for Gelliwig

On Friday the 10th of February one of the latest Patrons of the Birch Thompson Memorial Fund, Wolves and Welsh international Footballer Dave Edwards, went to Colton Hills School to pick up a cheque and encourage the students in their fundraising efforts. The students had raised £1125 during the Joe Loss Dinner and Dance and also a Celebration Day.

On Wednesday of this week the Charity bade farewell to one of its first Patrons and "biggest hitter" Baroness Rachael Heyhoe Flint. Rachael visited Gelliwig in 2008 to give children the cheque to pay for beds that are used today, and then in 2010 presented her "Birthday Bus" to the Charity at a special celebration at her beloved Molineux.

Chairman of the Charity Keith Berry said:

'We have been blessed with an inspirational supporter since 1981 in the unique person of "Our Rachael". She would want the good work to continue and today is evidence that it will. We are grateful that Dave has popped in to say thank you to the students and to the students themselves for all their best efforts in raising this money at a Celebration Day and Joe Loss Dinner Dance.'
